"I had an 80" flatmotor, open primary, 12" over radius rod front end with an inch of rake, dry spool front, side shift, and drag bars. Good fun in SoCal. When I was 19 years old, living in AZ, I bought a 45" flattie, '54 engine and trans in a '51 frame. Fun thing, it had a trike box with reverse. It's the bike I picked up my future wife (52 years ago) on for dates. Lot's of fun backing out of a parking spot after the bar closed.

Pic of my last bike, built from a wrecked '98 Ultra with a 135 horse, 120" motor. Yes, those are Marvin the Martian pics. Nine different panels, all different scenes, hand painted by a gifted painter that DIDN'T do any illegal pharmaceuticals. Fun bike before hot rod baggers were cool. The Ultra motor never gave me any problems. Then real life came around in '08 and it was gone. That was my first bagger. You may have guessed I'm a Marvin fan!

I didn't want the same skulls and flames as every other custom paint job had. I don't think I could match the paint now. If you didn't catch it, one side has a blue background and the other is red. As you said, it's the details. I do miss my old 'flatties' tho"

“64. Bought a 2021 Road Glide Special. While on the way to the Sturgis rally this year and with only 14,000 miles, the engine gave out. Top end was rebuilt (thankfully under warranty). Between that & my declining ability to pilot a large, fully loaded tourer two-up, I traded it in for a Can-Am Spyder.”
