HOGWORKZ® Highway Peg Crash Bar Install for Harley® Softail (fits '18 to current)

The HOGWORKZ® Highway Peg Crash Bar, designed for '18 to current Softail® Street Bob and Low Rider models, provides essential protection for the front section of your motorcycle. Replacing traditional bolt-on highway pegs, it fulfills the same function while incorporating derlin sliders at the ends. These sliders facilitate smoother pavement contact, reducing the risk of the bike seizing up during a slide and causing a highside. HOGWORKZ has carefully crafted the placement and length of this crash bar to ensure riders retain ample lean angle, making it a practical choice for both protection and performance.

1. Remove the Left Foot Peg:

  • Using the T45 socket, remove the bolt securing the left-side foot peg.

2. Remove the Right Foot Peg and Master Cylinder:

  • Remove the right-side foot peg. Let the foot peg hang, then remove the T45 bolt from the master cylinder.

3. Prepare the Hardware:

  • The two longer screws provided will be used to mount the right-side foot peg. You will also use the original T45 bolt for the master cylinder. Apply Loctite to all screws.

4. Install the Crash Bar:

  • Position the crash bar and insert one of the non-foot peg/master cylinder screws into the second-most forward hole on one side.
  • Snug the bolt, but do not fully tighten it.
  • Repeat this on the other side.

5. Reinstall the Left Foot Peg:

  • Start the bolt for the left-side foot peg, but do not fully tighten.

6. Snug All Bolts:

  • Once all the bolts are started, go back and snug all of them. Ensure everything is aligned before tightening.

7. Reinstall the Right Foot Peg and Master Cylinder:

  • Lift the master cylinder and reinsert the original T45 bolt.
  • Position the foot peg assembly and insert the new, longer screws.

8. Final Tightening:

  • Once all bolts are started, begin to tighten them. Start on one side, then move to the other. Make sure all bolts are fully tightened to secure the crash bar, foot pegs, and master cylinder.
